While going through circle theorems with few grade 8 students, we once again had our most favorite question popped up – do we ever use all this?
My instant answer was – ” Yes, circle theorems are very useful.”( And, I was trying to think one such master example which I can quote here in this context so that the students develop genuine interest in this topic.)
Navigation was the first term which came to our minds collectively . Students could recall circles forming around their warriors in their video games. I started to dig more about GPS technology. And, yes
GPS works based on a simple Mathematical Process named 3-dimensional Trilateration.
Its simply the use of circles/spheres in order to locate an object.
