When a child rides a bicycle with training wheels, he/she gets a feeling of ‘Wow, I can ride the bicycle on the first day itself!’ However, the real training starts only after removing the training wheels. That’s when the child slowly discovers his own balance and experiences the real joy of riding.
The spoon feeding way of education is just like those training wheels, it can only help the children for a short term to get good grades. However, the real learning starts when we stop being the training wheels. That’s when the child slowly discovers his own style of learning, a path to guided discovery and experiences the real joy of learning.
We, as educators, don’t need to be their training wheels. It will hamper their learning process in long run.
We, as educators, just need to guide the children and encourage them to discover their own learning style.

This news resonates so well with our values at Maths2Art! Maths2Art has always advocated the importance of the ‘self – study’ skill and discouraged the ‘spoon-feeding’ way of education.

Self study will be the key to such education system and degrees will no longer hold superficial values (I’m not liking the term ‘superficial values’).
The real purpose of education is to learn, to think, to solve the problems!
Unfortunately, chasing grades has taken a lot of limelight in the last few decades.
With such a news in air, (thankfully) chasing grades will take a back seat in the journey of education. In the near future, I hope to see more people experiencing the joy of learning rather than the pain of chasing higher grades.
